I'm Sultan AlNaqeeb, a photographer from the UAE focusing on wildlife and natural landscapes. I have won four photography awards since 2025. My work includes Reading the Lightning, a series capturing the storms of the UAE from the desert dunes to the Dubai skyline.

شَيْم البرق
شَيْم البرق هو ترقّبه للاستدلال على مواضع المطر، تستلهم هذه السلسلة هذا المعنى في أربع صور من الإمارات، تمتد من كثبان صحراء العين إلى أفق دبي.
بين إنسان يرقب السماء، وشجر ينعكس في الماء، وبرق يضيء أفق المدينة، تتأمل الصور علاقتنا بالعاصفة وما تتركه في المكان.
Shaym al-barq means watching the lightning to read where the rain will fall. This series draws on that meaning in four photographs from the UAE, stretching from the dunes of the Al Ain desert to the Dubai skyline.
Between a figure watching the sky, trees reflected in water and lightning illuminating the city skyline, the photographs contemplate our relationship with the storm and the mark it leaves on a place.
